More Fraggle Action

Fraggle Sapping Mah Doozer Building!

I got the green light last week that I'll be writing the lead story for the third issue of the Fraggle Rock comic. My story will feature the Doozers. So, I've got to get on my Fraggle game-face and start writing.

The bad news is that my Traveling Matt story got bumped from issue one to issue two. This is disappointing, but apparently can't be helped. But when they compile all four Fragglicious issues into one graphic novel, I'll have two stories in there, so that's pretty good.

Now I've got to watch some TV. It's research, I swear! Get down at Fraggle Rock!

Bezzerwizzer

File:Bezzerwizzergameboard.jpg

If you think the only fabulous thing to come out of Denmark is the Danes, then think again. There's also this wonderful board game, bezzerwizzer, which means "smarty pants". It takes the best parts of Trivial Pursuit and amplifies them.

Okay, I'm not a completely impartial judge, seeing that my darling Dane and her husband were key to the creation of the game, but it is pretty darn fun and they managed to land distrabution through Mattel, if you can believe it. Wowee!

Glamazon

Happy 2010!

To get the new year started right, I've set up my Amazon author's page and, hopefully, linked it to this blog. It won't show any of my old posts, but should receive my updates from here on out. So, if you found this blog via my Amazon author's page and are now reading about me launching my page... That's really too meta to deal with so early in the year.

Which leads to the question, why did goat carts go out of fashion?

Dear Nephew Gobo

Of all the Fraggles, I favor Traveling Matt. (Yes, Henson did intend for that pun, apparently)

He reminds me of early travelers to the Amazon, who came back claiming to have encountered all sorts of fantastical tribes. The one I remember in particular was a group of people described as having their heads embedded in their chests.

As you can see, the layout is very awkward and would make it all but impossible to wear a hat.

A Bit of Good News

Was it Napoleon that said to celebrate small victories? No, probably not. I think it was my friend Drew. Anyway, my bit of good news is that one of my pitches will be included in the premier issue of the new Fraggle Rock comic. Yes, that Henson creation spawned from the Muppet Show. So, I'm going to celebrate with a spot of champagne. I'll update about the comic as I go along.
